A Fully Functional Commerce Platform Built in 6 Hours

What if a complete commerce platform had to go from an idea to a working production system in just 6 hours?

That was the challenge behind this project.

For a client in the organic dairy industry, I designed and developed a complete farm-to-home commerce platform covering customer ordering, subscriptions, delivery scheduling, location management, administration, and delivery operations.

The entire platform was designed, developed, integrated, and deployed in approximately 6 hours.

More Than Just a Website

The platform includes three separate operational experiences:

Customer → Admin → Delivery Partner

Customers can place one-time orders or subscriptions, choose custom delivery dates, pause deliveries for specific dates, and select alternative dates when required.

For addresses, I integrated Google Maps APIs so customers can:

  • Use their current location
  • Drop a pin on the map
  • Search for apartments or locations
  • Select precise delivery locations

The Interesting Part: Delivery Operations

The client needed to distribute milk across Vizag efficiently.

Instead of treating the city as one delivery area, we divided Vizag into 20+ delivery clusters/circles.

The admin dashboard can then answer a very practical question:

On a particular date, for a particular circle, how many bottles need to be delivered, which products, and in what quantities?

This converts hundreds of individual customer orders into an operational delivery plan.

For example:

Circle A — October 10

  • Cow Milk — 500 ml × 84
  • Buffalo Milk — 500 ml × 42
  • Cow Milk — 1 L × 8

The admin can see the requirement by area and date instead of manually calculating individual orders.

Delivery Partner Experience

Delivery partners get their own dedicated interface.

They can see:

  • Their assigned delivery circle
  • Total bottles to deliver
  • Product-wise quantities
  • Individual customer delivery locations
  • Delivery points on a map

The map view shows delivery locations as pins, giving the delivery partner a visual understanding of their route.

The system also prioritizes the nearest delivery location, helping the delivery partner work through nearby customers first.

And with a single click, the delivery partner can open the customer's location directly in Google Maps for navigation.

Essentially:

Orders → Clusters → Delivery Assignment → Map Pins → Navigation

all work together.

Thank you, Google Maps API. 😄

Admin: Orders Without Constantly Refreshing

Another small but important detail is the admin experience.

When a new order arrives, the admin dashboard provides a sound alert, immediately notifying the operator that a new order has been placed.

For a business handling fresh daily deliveries, that small interaction makes the dashboard much more useful than simply waiting for someone to refresh a page.

Subscription System

The subscription engine was designed around real delivery scenarios rather than just recurring orders.

Customers can:

  • Create subscriptions
  • Select custom delivery dates
  • Pause a specific delivery
  • Choose an alternative date

This means the system has to manage the relationship between:

Subscription → Delivery Schedule → Exceptions → Rescheduling → Delivery

without breaking the underlying subscription.

Built in 6 Hours

The project included:

  • UI/UX design
  • Customer platform
  • Ordering system
  • Subscription system
  • Custom delivery scheduling
  • Admin dashboard
  • Delivery partner dashboard
  • 20+ delivery clusters
  • Product-wise delivery calculations
  • Map-based address selection
  • Delivery location mapping
  • Nearest-location workflow
  • Google Maps navigation
  • New-order sound notifications
  • Backend and database
  • Deployment

All of this was completed in approximately:

6 HOURS

The interesting part wasn't simply building it quickly.

It was taking a real-world business workflow and turning it into a connected system where customers, administrators, and delivery partners all work from the same underlying data.
